ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrival Day

  • Drive or fly to Saskatoon, also known as the Paris of the Prairies with its multiple bridges! The city is the largest in Saskatchewan as well as the region’s cultural economic hub.
  • Visit of Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Discover the cultures of the Northern Plains indigenous peoples in a guided tour or program of your choice – topics available: A Step Back in Time; Tipi Teaching; Traditional Games & Skills; Puppet Tales & Cultural Awareness; Crafts Making.
  • Optional tipi sleepover.
  • Welcome dinner.

Day 2: Saskatoon

  • Breakfast.
  • Tour of the University of Saskatchewan Campus. Visit the facilities; engage with university staff, faculty members and students, and participate in interactive activities.
  • Entrance to the Museum of Natural Sciences University of Saskatchewan. Actively learn about how evolution works by means of exhibits and a hands-on program to be selected among the following fields: Archeology & Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography & Planning, Geological Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics & Engineering Physics, and Psychology.
  • Visit of Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo to discover more than 300 Canadian and foreign animals!
  • Group dinner.
  • Theatre Show or Symphony.

Day 3: Saskatoon – Regina

  • Breakfast.
  • Guided tour of the Remai Modern Museum to discover contemporary art from the perspective of Saskatchewan. Tours available (including an art-making activity):
    • “Highlights” or “Picasso”.
  • Drive to Regina, the capital and second largest city in Saskatchewan. The area was previously known as “Pile of Bones” originating from the first settlers, who would hunt the roaming buffalo.
  • Join a local expert on a guided walking tour to learn about the history of the city and the stories associated with a variety of authentic locations and attractions.
  • Group dinner.
  • Entrance to SkyPark, an active entertainment space featuring Go-karts, Climbing Wall, High Ropes/ Zip-lines and an 18-hole mini golf course.

Day 4: Regina

  • Breakfast.
  • Tour of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building. Learn about the impressive architecture and history of the building in a tour lasting approximately 30 minutes.
  • Tour of the Government House. Learn about its history, and visit the former residence of the Lieutenant Governor. You can also choose among a variety of activities such as Scavenger Hunts, Geocaching or Life-Sized Board Games.
  • Waking tour of the RCMP Heritage Centre. Discover how the North-west Mounted Police was established back in 1873 and the ways they have evolved today. Optional hands-on program of your choice – topics available: “Famous Cases, Events, and People”; “Life lessons from a Red Serge”; “Northern Campaigns: Three Sides of History”.
  • Group dinner.
  • Laser Quest night.

Day 5: Regina

  • Breakfast.
  • Entrance to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, a natural history museum showcasing the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage from various times.
  • Entrance to the Saskatchewan Science Centre. Explore this interactive museum with more than 185 scientific exhibits! Hands-on program of your choice – topics available: Master your Mind; Cardiac Cut Up; Robotics; Amazing Anatomy; Science of Special Effects.
  • Optional sleepover at the Centre for a Science Camping Adventure.
  • Entrance to an Aquatic Centre featuring a slide, frog slide, 1-metre diving board and an umbrella rain tree.
  • Group dinner.
  • Theatre show.

Day 6: Regina – Moose Jaw

  • Breakfast.
  • Visit of the Saskatchewan Military Museum. Learn about the Military history and heritage in Saskatchewan from 1885 to the present!
  • Drive to Moose Jaw, a city located in southern Saskatchewan. This small prairie city boasts the highest number of tourist attractions per capita in Canada.
  • Entrance to Moose Jaw Western Development Museum. Discover the history of transportation, steam engine trains, cars, and winter travel.
  • Optional hands-on program of your choice – topics available: Saskatchewan Wartime Contribution; Community Learning; Wartime Rationing Activity Sheet.
  • Ten pin bowling including shoe rental including pizza dinner.

Day 7: Moose Jaw

  • Breakfast.
  • Guided tour of the Tunnels of Moose Jaw. Engage in an interactive theatrical tour and hear about the unique Canadian stories of the undercity!
  • Experience at Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre. Learn about the eco-tourism and the endangered habitat of Saskatchewan in a guided tour including the opportunity to meet a live burrowing owl.
  • Farewell dinner.

Day 8: Departure Day

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Drive or fly to home city.
