Washington DC is the home of the powerful US government, as such it is an excellent destination for students to visit as it is hugely informative. The US government is a super power that affects the whole world and thus it is a great touring location for all sorts of course subjects from politics to civic to history. Along with the politically themed activities such as tours of the National Mall, war memorials, Library of Congress, etc. Washington offers other touring options such as the Smithsonian museums. The Smithsonian is a collective that makes up the American National museum, it is composed of eleven museums and galleries on the National Mall and six other museums and the National Zoo in the greater National Capital Area. This allows visiting groups to engage in the carefully curated collections of their course subject matter.
