ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrival Day

  • Fly from departure city to New Orleans.
  • On arrival in New Orleans you will be met by an Educational World Tours representative and transferred to your hotel by private charter bus.
  • Check-in to your hotel. Unload luggage and equipment.
  • Pizza and pop (or water) dinner at your hotel.

Accommodation: Moderate hotel accommodation in New Orleans - 4 nights

Day 2: NEW ORLEANS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Morning Activity specific to you group (ex. Music Clinic, language class etc)
  • Time to purchase Lunch
  • Cajun cooking class/demonstration - this is also a fun way to learn more about the Cajun history/culture of New Orleans.
  • Group dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Transfer to a local Jazz Club.
    Entrance to a local Jazz Club to see some of New Orleans' best jazz performers.

Day 3: NEW ORLEANS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Drive to Vacherie for a guided tour of Oak Alley Plantation House. Guided tour of Oak Alley Plantation House. There will be time afterwards to explore the grounds.
  • Drive to Lafitte for your Swamp Tour. Stop on route to purchase lunch.
  • Swamp Tour by high speed airboat to learn more about the history, flora and fauna of the swamps.
  • Drive back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
  • Group dinner at a local restaurant. (ex. The Governor Restaurant & Seafood Bar).

Day 4: NEW ORLEANS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Morning Activity specific to you group (ex. Music Clinic, language class etc)
  • There will be some time on Magazine Street to purchase lunch - walk along some of the neighboring Garden District streets to see the beautiful old homes and gardens.
  • Guided tour of New Orleans including St. Louis #1 Cemetery, Jackson Square, S. Louis Cathedral, The Cabildo, Presbytere, Pirates Alley, William Faulkner House, Tennessee Williams House, Bourbon Street, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, Ursuline Convent, Preservation Hall and much more!
    There will be time to purchase lunch during your tour.
  • Entrance to the Presbytere and Old Mint Museums where you will learn more about the history of jazz in New Orleans and the Katrina disaster. There will also be time to visit the CafĂ© Du Monde.
  • Transfer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for the afternoon mass.
  • Transfer to your riverboat cruise.
  • Evening Riverboat dinner cruise on the Mississippi with jazz music.

Day 5: Departure Day

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Fly from New Orleans to home city.
