ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Departure Day

  • Fly from departure city to Nairobi.

Day 2: NAIROBI

  • Upon your arrival to the airport, clear customs and meet your private charter bus and English-speaking driver.
  • Transfer by private minibus and check-in to your hotel in Nairobi.
  • Dinner at your accommodation (timing dependant).

Accommodation: Moderate hotel accommodation in the Nairobi area - 3 nights.

Day 3: NAIROBI

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • This morning, drive by minibus to the Giraffe Centre. You will learn about the protected Rothschild Giraffe, as well as the elephant orphan nursery of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. You will also witness how orphaned elephants are being raised.
  • There will be time to purchase lunch (not included).
  • This afternoon, visit different cultural villages at the Bomas of Kenya. With live percussion, string and wind instruments but also diverse, authentic and energetic dancing, the Bomas Harambee Dancers will take you on a journey through Kenyaâ??s past and present.
  • Welcome dinner at your accommodation.

Day 4: NAIROBI

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Morning visit of a local University, where you will get to spend time with local students.
  • There will be time to purchase lunch (not included).
  • This afternoon, get an insider's look at the Kibera slums. Housing about 250,000 people, it is the largest slum in Africa and one of the biggest in the entire world. Proceeds are used to support the educational mission inside the slum.
  • Dinner at your own arrangements close to your accommodation.

Day 5: NAIROBI - NANYUKI

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Today, drive north by minibus through the farmlands to make a stop at the Equator. Your destination is the Ol Pejeta conservancy.
  • Lunch at the Stables at the conservancy.
  • Drive around this afternoon. You may spot elephants, lions, rhinos as well as plentiful buffalos, giraffes and zebras. If you are in luck, you could even see leopards!
  • You will also visit the Chimpanzee & the Rhino sanctuaries to learn about how the handlers take care of these protected species.
  • Dinner at the Stables at the conservancy.

Day 6: NANYUKI - NAIVASHA

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Today, drive to Thomson falls and discover the 73 meters drop into the Great Rift Valley.
  • Continue towards Lake Naivasha to Elsamere, located on the shores of the lake on the great rift valley. Drive to the Field Study Centre, where you will spend the next 2 nights.
  • Lunch at the Field Study Centre.
  • Afternoon free at your leisure.
  • Dinner at the Field Study Centre.

Day 7: NAIVASHA

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Spend the day at the Field Study Centre. Visit the Joy Adamson museum and watch Born Free movie, among other activities.
  • The Field Study Centre is an integral part of Elsamere and was established in 1989. It continues the conservation work started by Joy and George Adamson and offers a wide range of educational programmes for teachers, pupils and community leaders.
  • Lunch at the Field Study Centre
  • Dinner at the Field Study Centre.

Day 8: NAIVASHA - MAJI MOTO

  • (The next 3 days can be in any order)
  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Drive to Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp for a three-night stay in two-person tents, with clean shared outside toilets and hot mineral water showers. This is a unique experience - you will take part in cultural activities in an authentic Maasai community, where people are still living the Maasai traditions.
  • Lunch at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.
  • Go on a group walk on the hills with Maasai warriors to learn about traditional life; warrior training; widow village visit for a look at local traditional life with bead making and manyatta homes; campfire with the Maasai warriors.
  • Dinner at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.

Day 9: MAJI MOTO

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Morning game drive to view Lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and more!
  • Afternoon options for Activities include: visit to the hot spring; community projects such as their school, conservation projects for beekeeping, and tree nursery.
  • Lunch at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.
  • Dinner at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.

Day 10: MAJI MOTO

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Spend the day at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp (activities described above).
  • Lunch at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.
  • Afternoon game drive to view Lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and more!
  • Dinner at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp.

Day 11: DEPARTURE DAY - MAJI MOTO - NAIROBI

  • Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Drive back to Nairobi. There will be time to purchase lunch on route (not included).
  • Last minute shopping opportunities if you wish.
  • Farewell dinner at a local restaurant (timing dependant).
  • Evening transfer to Nairobi Airport by private minibus to connect with your international flight back to you home city.
