ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Departure Day

  • Fly from departure city to London.

Day 2: LONDON

  • Welcome to London, England! Upon arrival into London clear customs and meet an EWT representative who will escort you to your waiting private coach. Board your coach and transfer to your hotel.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • After lunch City Tour of London with local guide with focus on World War II, the London Blitz (1940-1941) and St. Paul's Cathedral (symbol of hope). You will also see several major sights of London such Houses of Parliament (Big Ben), Westminster Abbey and Tower Bridge.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Accommodation: Hotel accommodation in London (3 nights).

Day 3: LONDON

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Morning Activity specific to your program - ex. A university tour such as the London Business School was founded in 1964 and joined the University of London in 1965. The School offers post-graduate degrees and covers seven subject areas - Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management Science and Operations, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour and Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
  • There will be time to purchase lunch (own expense).
  • Entrance to the British Museum, which is a public institution dedicated to human history, art and culture. Its permanent collection numbers some 8 million works, and is among the largest and most comprehensive in existence having been widely sourced during the era of the British Empire, and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present. It is the first national public museum in the world.
  • The remainder of the afternoon at leisure in chaperoned groups.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: LONDON

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • After breakfast travel to Bletchly Park and enjoy the guided tour of the facility - Bletchly Park is the home of British code breaking and the birthplace of modern information technology (can be considered to be one of the birthplaces of the Internet). Learn more about secret intelligence, and the profound influence it had on the outcome of Second World War.
  • Afternoon, return to London and visit the Churchill War Rooms - the secret World War II bunker and museum that tells the story of Winston Churchill's life and legacy.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5: LONDON - PARIS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • After breakfast travel to Paris, the City of Lights to learn about the city's rich history.
  • Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Paris. See the monuments and museums of Paris which are simply breathtaking. See the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendôme - high end shopping area - and the Champs-Elysees.
  • You will end at the Eiffel tower for a visit to the top floor to enjoy a spectacular view of the capital of France.
  • Carry on to explore the Louvre (closed on Tuesday), where you will see the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardi da Vinci, the Victory of Samothrace and the Venus of Milo. Headsets included.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: PARIS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Morning Activity specific to your program - ex. A campus tour of the University of the Sorbonne - In 1253 a college for 16 poor students who wanted to study theology was created at Louis IX's request. It became the Sorbonne as Robert de Sorbon, the king's confessor, gave his name to the school. After 1885, it became the most important university in France; and, nowadays, it is still one of the most important universities in Paris. The Sorbonne Church was built according to the will of Richelieu between 1635 and 1642. In the church, you can admire his grave, carved by François Girardon. The dome was painted by the famous painter Philippe de Champaigne.
  • Afternoon free to explore Paris at your leisure. Time for some shopping at Galeries Lafayette and along the Champs Elysees if you wish. Home of the Fashion Industry.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7: PARIS

  • Breakfast at your hotel.
  • Sightseeing Tour of such as a cruise along the Seine on the Bateau Mouche or a free morning to explore Paris.
  • This afternoon enjoys a workshop of Jeu de Boules! The most French sport you can imagine and a fun and interactive way to practice French.
  • Continue to Montmartre. The "Martyrs Mound" was a real village before becoming the haunt of artists and Bohemians in the late 19C. It is the artist area where painters like Monet, Toulouse L'Autrec lived and found their artistic inspiration. Also see the Basilica Sacre - Coeur, from where you will have an amazing view all over Paris.
  • Dinner will be in a typical French bistro at Montmartre.

Day 8: Departure from Paris

  • Fly from Paris to home city.
