  VANCOUVER ISLAND

Vancouver Island

Quickly reached from several points on the mainland, Vancouver Island is a treasure for nature and adventure lovers. The picturesque provincial capital is Victoria, located on the southern tip of the island. While some prefer to explore this charming city and its cultural life, architecture, and restaurants, others would use Victoria as the starting point to exploring the many wonders of this large island.

On the east coast, the side overlooking the mainland, you can make your first stop at Nanaimo and its collection of culture and recreation experiences. In Nanaimo, we recommend the Petroglyph Provincial park and the thousands of years old rock carving made by First Nations people. Moving west, you will find Tofino and Ucluelet, two small coastal cities that will surprise you with their gardens, museums, parks, and stunning wilderness. Our tip: don’t miss the Tofino Botanical Gardens or Ucluelet Aquarium!

  CALGARY AND BANFF

Calgary and Banff

Another province that boasts beautiful landscapes is Alberta which shares the Rocky Mountain Range with BC and is the home to destinations such as Banff, Jasper and Lake Louis. Banff is a popular option to combine with a Calgary tour. As a mountain gateway, Banff has opportunities to include some unique guided tours such as Johnston's Canyon or a traditional living skills class. Well known sights include the Sulphur Mountain Gondola, Whyte Museum, and the Banff Hot Springs. You may wish to add a day trip to Lake Louise and/or the Athabasca Glacier, or a day's skiing. Jasper National Park is another destination close to Banff that student groups are sure to enjoy with its amazing natural vistas. In contrast, Calgary is a great city to include on a tour alongside Banff or as a standalone destination. There you can visit the Calgary Tower, Telus World of Science, Calgary Zoo, Heritage Park Calgary, Calgary Olympic Park and Glenbow Museum. Calgary Philharmonic, musicals and dinner theatres are great evening options, or you may wish to go and see the Calgary Flames play hockey!

CITY-HOPPING BY TRAIN IN THE USA: WASHINGTON, DC AND NEW YORK CITY

Washington DC and NYC

The USA is a country full of exciting destinations that all have unique and educational opportunities. A 7-day tour to Washington DC and New York City seems like a great combination. They both offer endless cultural activities, including museums, historical landmarks and can easily adapt to any educational program. A trip to Washington DC will allow your students to get a better understanding of America’s history: through monuments, memorials and government buildings; But also, by visiting 1 or 2 of the world-class museums of the city, such as the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History or the International Spy Museum. In New York, join a custom designed sightseeing tour of The Big Apple, participate in a Broadway workshop and get a hands-on experience, admire incredible views on the city from the Empire State Building, live like a local and enjoy a fun dinner at a typical restaurant. There are many city-hopping opportunities in the USA and this one certainly combines each and every component of the perfect learning adventure!
